The FM1 CPU's come in two distinct classes, those with at integrated graphics core and those without. As a general rule all the CPUs in the A4, A6, A8 and E2 range have AMD's Radeon 6000 series onboard graphics, all of the rest do not. These CPU/APU's like the AM3+ series only support DDR3 memory and AMD specs have 1866MHz memory listed as the maximum supported. They range from Dual Core to Quad Core with L2 Cache sizes varying from 1MB to 4MB and are designed for desktop use, even making a decent mid range gaming system using the onboard graphics. The Graphics capability can be expanded with the addition of a discrete AMD Radeon HD 6450, 6550 or 6570 graphics card which will allow for the APU's to work in Dual Graphics Card mode.

AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) are a Processor Design and Manufacturing company, they are most well known for their ranges of Desktop PC Processors but also supply Mobile and Server Processors. The latter being primarily for cloud computing and virtualization environments. AMD devices are used everywhere from the smallest PC to state of the art Super Computers. Their purchase of ATI in 2006 has led to AMD developing CPU's that not only do normal processing functions but also graphics processing functions within a single chip.

*Note: Benchmarks are performed across a single range, scores reflect the APU / CPU's capabilities compared to other FM1 APU / CPU's in the range. Due to some FM1 processors not having an onboard GPU these scores are left blank to give a true reflection of the CPU performance. The scores should be treated as a guide only as performance can vary greatly dependant on other system components.
